January Events ...



Atlanta Boat Show

January 12-15, 2017 - Georgia World Congress Center

The all new 2017 Atlanta Boat Show will feature one of the largest displays of watercraft in the Southeast. The Georgia World Congress Center will be filled to the gills with fishing boats, sport cruisers, bow riders, pontoon boats, house boats, and just about everything else you could imagine that is boat and water related.

Whether you're in the market for a new boat, or just simply want to experience the thrill of seeing the latest models... hands-on... the Atlanta Boat Show is a nice retreat from the winter blahs. Come visit for a couple of days, most hotel rates are low and crowds are reasonably light - so it's the perfect time for an affordable... fun... get~a~way out of the house.

Boat Show hours are: Thur-Fri 11 AM - 9 PM; Sat 10 AM - 9 PM; Sun 10 AM - 6 PM. Tickets are $12 for Adults - Children 15 & under are free when accompanied by an adult.


Hot Chocolate 15k/5k & Expo

January 20-22, 2017 - Georgia World Congress Center

Beat the winter's chill this January with a sweet weekend filled with all things chocolate - combined with a fun race. Events begin on Friday, January 20th, with the Hot Chocolate Expo at the Georgia World Congress Center. This is where participants must pickup their race day bib and goodie bag. There will also be plenty of vendors, entertainment and delicious chocolate samples.

The race itself is held on Sunday, January 22nd, with the following start times: 5k: 7:40 AM & 15k: 8:25 AM. Both races start and end at Turner Field.

After the race, the party continues with a live DJ, Hot Chocolate inflatables and a fun Kid Zone.


Honda Battle of the Bands

January 28, 2017 - Georgia Dome

For fifteen consecutive years now... the annual Honda Battle of the Bands has been entertaining crowds with this talented exhibition that showcases the excellence offered by historically black college and university marching bands from all around the country in this invitational event.

Held at the Georgia Dome, the show starts at 3 PM and ticket prices start as low as $10.

St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival

March 11, 2017 - Peachtree Street - Midtown Atlanta

With over 133 years of experience... Atlanta has continuously improved upon this great annual event, which now includes a huge parade, followed by an equally unbelievable day of festivities. Everyone can be Irish on St. Patrick's Day in Atlanta.

The Atlanta St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at 12:00 noon, on Peachtree Street at 16th Street, and then proceeds down Peachtree Street to 5th Street.

At the conclusion of this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade, enjoy an afternoon of fun and festivities that will continue at Atlantic Station's 'Shamrock the Station' Festival from 2-6 PM.

You'll have an afternoon of family fun, including two stages of live Irish entertainment, activities for the kids, arts and crafts booths, along with traditional Irish cuisine.

So kiss the Blarney Stone... wear some green... and toast to Ireland; it's going to be a blast - and best of all, the event is free!


Georgia Marathon

March 19, 2017 - Centennial Olympic Park

The Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon will include a 5k race as well as a children's run, and will travel through Metro Atlanta's most interesting and historic areas including the Sweet Auburn District... Inman Park... Decatur... Druid Hills... Virginia-Highlands... and Midtown. Along the way... it will pass landmarks including the King Historic Site, Carter Center, four college campuses, and Piedmont Park.

Both the Georgia Marathon and the Half Marathon races start at 7:00 am. The staging area for the start and finish is at Centennial Olympic Park in the heart of downtown Atlanta.


Atlanta International Auto Show

March 22-26, 2017 - Georgia World Congress Center

Celebrating its 35th year... the Atlanta International Auto Show offers over 600,000 square feet of true car mania. Over 400 new vehicles will be displayed; from the latest cars, vans, trucks, and sports utility vehicles... to the newest concept cars, 2016-2017 intros and exoctics.

Additional attractions at the Atlanta Auto Show include an International Auto Show for kids, motorcycle stunt shows, celebrity appearances and more!

Admission to the 2017 Atlanta International Auto Show is just $10 for adults; $5 for children 6-12; free for Children under 6. Show hours are Wednesday - Thursday, 12 PM - 9 PM; Friday, 12 PM - 10 PM; Saturday, 10 AM - 10 PM; Sunday 10 AM - 8 PM.


2017 Atlanta Home Show

March 24-26, 2017 - The Cobb Galleria Centre

The 39th annual Atlanta Home Show feature's displays of home and garden products, fully furnished and landscaped model homes open for tours... many seminars on home improvement topics... plus lots of arts and crafts and other great home decorating ideas.

2017 Atlanta Home Show hours are: Friday, 10 AM - 6 PM; Saturday, 10 AM - 7 PM; Sunday, Noon - 6 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults; children 12 and under are free.


Atlanta Film Festival

March 24 - April 2, 2017 - Virginia Highlands

The 41st Annual Atlanta Film Festival promises to be an exciting viewing event. Come experience ten days of intense film viewing ... where you can indulge in every type of cinema from the United States and around the world. Featuring well-known directors and independent filmmakers, over 150 works will showcase this ever-popular event.

Screenings, panels and workshops will be held at the Plaza Theatre, Seven Stages Theatre and the Goat Farm Arts Center.

With Atlanta Hotels being limited on availability, we strongly suggest that you purchase screening passes and reserve accommodations well in advance.

Atlanta Dogwood Festival

April 7-9, 2017 - Piedmont Park - Midtown Atlanta

Heralding the return to springtime in the South ... the 81st Annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival will be held at Piedmont Park ... from April 7 through April 9.

2017's Dogwood celebration features fun activities for the entire family... including a dog frisbee competition, kids village, rock-climbing wall, and a whole lot more. The Dogwood Festival's famous artist's market has over 240 exhibitors.

Dogwood Festival Hours are Friday, Noon - 11 PM; Saturday, 10 AM - 11 PM and Sunday, 10 AM - 6 PM.


Georgia Renaissance Festival

April 15 - June 4, 2017 - 6655 Virlyn B Smith Rd - Near Hartsfield Atlanta Airport

Enter through the castle gates and spend the entire day in merry ole England. Shop the 15-acre artists marketplace featuring thousands of handcrafted wares. You'll be thrilled and amazed as jugglers, minstrels, acrobats, and jousting knights occupy 12 stages with delightful entertainment.

With Atlanta's mild spring days... it's the perfect time to spend an entire weekend filled with merrymaking, feasting and shopping. Georgia Renaissance Festival hours are: 10:30 AM - 6 PM every Saturday and Sunday, including Memorial Day.

Coveniently located to all of Atlanta... the Georgia Renaissance Festival is only 8 miles to the south of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on I-85 at exit-61.


SweetWater 420 Festival

April 21-23, 2017 - Centennial Olympic Park

The SweetWater 420 Festival is a popular eco-friendly event that features live musical performances, craft beer, a comedy tent, local artist market, food trucks, and more. Past musical acts have included Kid Rock, Ben Harper, Bastille, Ludacris, The Disco Biscuits, and Cypress Hill.

There will also be a 5K race on April 22nd at 8:30 AM. The race will begin on Centennial Olympic Park Drive near Andrew Young International Blvd. and finish near the Marietta St./Andrew Young park entrance.

Festival hours are Friday: 1 PM - 11 PM; Saturday: Noon - 11 PM; Sunday: Noon - 10 PM. Three-day tickets are available for $138 and higher.

Sweet Auburn SpringFest 2017

May 12-14, 2017 - Auburn Avenue & Courtland Avenue - Downtown Atlanta

Attracting more than 350,000 people... Sweet Auburn SpringFest is the largest street festival in the Southeast. In 2016, SpringFest featured 7 stages of live entertainment... Fantastic Fun Zone for the kids, a Technology Expo, an International Craft Marketplace, the Sweet Auburn Film Festival, and more.

Sweet Auburn SpringFest 2017 hours are: Fri. 5-9 PM, Sat. 11 AM - 9 PM, Sun. 2 PM - 8 PM. Admission is free.


MomoCon 2017

May 25-28, 2017 - Georgia World Congress Center

Atlanta's answer to Comic-Con, MomoCon is one of the fastest growing conventions of its kind in the country. Fans of Japanese anime, American animation, comics, video games, and tabletop games come together to celebrate their passion by costuming / cosplay, browsing the huge exhibitors hall, meeting celebrity voice talents, designers, and writers behind their favorite shows, games, comics, and much much more over this four-day event. Whether you're an anime fan, gamer, comic reader, or just like watching cartoons, all are welcome at MomoCon.


Memorial Day Weekend

Atlanta Jazz Festival 2017

May 26-28, 2017 - Piedmont Park - Midtown Atlanta

Considered to be one of the world's greatest musical celebrations...this annual jazz event always draws well over a 100,000 people to listen to many well-known musicians such as Fats Domino and the Neville Brothers.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival takes place at Piedmont Park and the entire event is free.


Stone Mountain Park Memorial Weekend

May 26-29, 2017 - Stone Mountain Park - Stone Mountain, GA

Just a short drive from anywhere in Atlanta ... Stone Mountain Park celebrates Memorial Day Weekend with the park's 32nd anniversary of the world's largest lasershow spectacular with new song segments, more fireworks and laser canopy special effects. Veterans and current members of the military will also be honored each night.

Memorial Day Weekend festivites begin each night at 9:30 PM.

Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo

July 2-3, 2017 - Georgia World Congress Center

Always held at the Georgia World Congress Center for two days before the Peachtree Road Race, the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo attracts many of the race's runners, their families and everyone else who is interested in health and fitness.

From vendors selling the latest sports apparel and gear, to informative seminars, giveaways, and fun activities for the kids - it's a great prelude to the exciting race itself.

Expo hours are Thursday: 11 AM - 8 PM; Friday: 10 AM - 7 PM.


July 4th Celebrations

July 4, 2017 - Throughout Atlanta

Anywhere you are in Atlanta, you'll find celebrations for the good ole U.S.A.. Local newspapers carry all of the particulars, so you can find everything from huge fireworks displays, to small-town parades and picnics.

Centennial Olympic Park ... located between Baker Street and Techwood Drive is the site of Atlanta's daylong Independence Day celebration. Live music and entertainment start in the afternoon and end with a really big fireworks display choreographed to a musical score. Thousands of people turn out, but you can also view the fireworks from a variety of less crowded spots nearby. Festivities begin at 6:00 PM, with the fireworks show at around 9 PM (rain or shine).

Hosting the largest fireworks show in the Southeast, Lenox Square Mall will light up the beautiful Buckhead District with a huge pyrotechnic extravaganza featuring over 10,000 fireworks at around 9:40 PM.

Peachtree Road Race

July 4, 2017 - Buckhead & Midtown Atlanta

What originally started in 1970 with only 150 runners, the Peachtree Road Race now boasts over 55,000 participants and a 150,000 spectators... making it one of the nation's largest attended races. The course's 6.2 mile route begins on Peachtree Road at Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square Mall, and makes its way through Buckhead to Midtown turning on to 10th Street, and ending at Piedmont Park.

The wheelchair race begins at 6:43 AM, followed by the main start at 7:30 AM.


V103 Car & Bike Show

July 16, 2016 - Georgia World Congress Center

Now in its 13th year, the V-103 Car & Bike Show will once again return to the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta on July 16, 2016, to showcase the latest in custom cars and motorcycles... along with newest models available from the world's major auto manufacturers.

There will also be live musical performances from many world-renowned Hip Hop artists, an autograph session where attendees can meet the celebrities in person, and plenty of vendors showcasing their latest products and services.

Show hours are from Noon - 9 PM. Advance tickets are only $15, and can be purchased at all Atlanta-area DTLR locations.


Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week

July 23-31, 2016 - Participating Restaurants Throughout Downtown Atlanta

Downtown Restaurant Week showcases many of downtown Atlanta's finest restaurants, with each offering special dining promotions for brunch, lunch and dinner - with prix-fixe choices for $15-$35 per person ( not including tip & tax ). Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week models similar events that are held in other major metropolitan cities... including New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle, and Washington D.C..

Participating restaurants include the Atlanta Grill, Hard Rock Cafe, Legal Sea Foods, and more.

German Bierfest

August 20, 2016 - Woodruff Park - Downtown Atlanta

Come cool off this summer with a visit to the 11th annual German Bierfest in downtown Atlanta at Woodruff Park. This fabulous outdoor festival allows you to sample from one of the largest selections of authentic German beers, along with delicious Bavarian food like bratwurst, sauerkraut, schnitzel and more.

So grab your lederhosen and some friends, and come see why the German Bierfest has grown to become one of the most popular festivals of its kind in the Atlanta metro area.

Festival hours are from 2 PM - 7 PM and tickets are $30 in advance, and only $40 on August 20.


Imagine Music Festival

August 22-24, 2017 - Historic Old Fourth Ward Park - Downtown Atlanta

Imagine Music Festival (IMF) is a two-day dance music festival held in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded by IRIS Presents, the festival features multiple stages hosting the world's top electronic musicians, DJ's and bands along with captivating cirque style acts & performances. Dragon Con

September 1-4, 2017 - Downtown Atlanta

Dragon Con, the largest sci-fi/fantasy convention of its kind in Atlanta, is a weekend long party that includes exciting games, workshops, costume competitions, fan events, celebrity guest appearances, an art show, and more.

On Saturday, fans can watch the nearly one-mile parade that winds down Peachtree Street at 10 AM, ending on Peachtree Center Ave. between John Portman Blvd. and Baker St., in front of the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.


Labor Day Weekend

September 1-4, 2017 - Throughout Atlanta

While it may be considered the unofficial end of summer, it certainly doesn't mean it has to be the end to fun! Come visit Atlanta this Labor Day Weekend and enjoy a host of exciting events going on throughout the city. From the official Atlanta Black Pride celebration, to one of the largest popular culture, fantasy and sci-fi conventions of its kind, Dragon Con, where over 65,000 people will converge ... there will be something for everyone.


Rise Up and Run 5K

September 10, 2016 - Georgia Dome

Come join the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Track Club for the 2016 Rise Up and Run, presented by Northside Hospital. This family friendly event offers something for everyone, including a 1 Mile and 50m Dash. All 5K and 1 Mile participants will have the opportunity to finish on the Atlanta Falcons 50-yard line inside the Georgia Dome, while the 50m Dash will take place on the field as well.


Music Midtown Festival

September 17-18, 2016 - Piedmont Park - Midtown Atlanta

Considered to be a past tradition in Atlanta, the Music Midtown Festival will return Friday, September 17 at Piedmont Park.

With multiple-acts booked in alternative... classic rock... jazz... blues... and much more. The Music Midtown Festival is a diverse gala, that is sure to please any music lover. Tickets go on sale in July and will cost $125 for this two day festival, which will also include an artists market, food vendors and two VIP areas.

2015 Music Midtown Festival Acts included: Elton John, Drake, Van Halen, Lenny Kravitz and more.


Taste of Atlanta

September 21-23, 2016 - Technology Square - Midtown Atlanta

Located in the fashionable Midtown District ... the annual Taste of Atlanta is a two-day outdoor food festival that features live cooking demonstrations and classes, children's activities, and plenty of great food samplings from over 90 area restaurants.

Participating restaurants for this year's Taste of Atlanta include Buttermilk Kitchen, Johnny Rockets, Mediterranean Grill and more!

Out on Film Festival

Sept. 29 - Oct. 6, 2016 - Landmark Midtown Art Cinema - Midtown Atlanta

"Out on Film" is one of the most respected and attended LGBT Film Festivals in the Southeast and lasts for 8 days in October. Produced by IMAGE Film and Video Center, the Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Film Festival features full-length films and shorts about gay... lesbian... bisexual... and transgendered communities.

The Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Film Festival offers both American and International Films, covering a wide variety of themes. Landmark Midtown Art Cinema is the chosen venue for this year's event.

Columbus Day Weekend

October 6-9, 2017 - Throughout Atlanta

Columbus Day in Atlanta marks the first official holiday weekend of fall ... the summer's heat and crowds are gone... which means you can casually stroll the city's colorful streets and the air is refreshingly clear and crisp. It's truly one of the best times of the year to visit Atlanta.

Atlanta Pride 2017

October 13-15, 2017 - Piedmont Park - Midtown Atlanta

From October 13th through the 15th ... over 300,000 people will gather in Atlanta for the annual Atlanta Pride Festival.

Over the years ... the Atlanta Pride Celebration has become one of the city's largest annual events. In 2016, over 170 contingents marched, as Atlanta Pride drew an estimated 320,000 spectators to the parade, rally and vendor areas in Piedmont Park. Participants come from the greater Atlanta area, around the state and beyond.

The annual Atlanta Pride Parade begins at 1 PM in Midtown, at Peachtree St. and 10th St..


Atlanta 10-Miler and 5K

October 23, 2016 - Atlantic Station - Midtown Atlanta

There's always two things to look forward to in October ... the colorful fall foliage and the Atlanta 10-Miler and 5K.

Taking place at Atlantic Station in Midtown, the 10-Miler and 5K offers the chance for both first-time runners and seasoned professionals to discover the many beautiful facets of Atlanta one step at a time. If that's more than you want to do... cheering along the sidelines is easy and always just as much fun.

The Atlanta 10-Miler and 5K kicks-off at Atlantic Station at 7:30 AM.


2016 Bands of America Super Regional

October 28-29, 2016 - Georgia Dome

Founded in 1975 ... Bands of America is the nation's leading presenter of musical events for exceptionally-talented high school band students. Playing to a national audience of families, teachers and enthusiasts... Bands of America has become one of the most popular Atlanta events in the fall.


Walker Stalker Con

October 28-30, 2016 - Georgia World Congress Center

Walker Stalker Con isn't just an ordinary convention. It's a fan meet-up and an opportunity for attendees to come away feeling like they've had an amazing experience and became part of a greater community of zombie lovers! Walker Stalker Con is three days of events, panels, and experiences that zombie fans won't find anywhere else!

Macy's Great Tree Lighting

November 20, 2016 - Lenox Square Mall - Buckhead Atlanta

Bring the family and celebrate the 69th annual lighting of Macy's Department Store's Great Tree. Pre-show festivities begin at 5 PM, and the official ceremony starts at 6 PM.

There will also be a festive fireworks display set to holiday music ending the evening's event.


The Lighting of Atlantic Station

November 21, 2015 - Atlantic Station - Midtown Atlanta

Kick the Holiday season off with the Lighting of Atlantic Station ... featuring over 250,000 lights throughout an eight-block area in Atlanta's famous Midtown... and then experience realistic 'snowfall' to follow!

Events begin at Noon, with the welcome of Santa, and the grand illumination happening at approximately 8:30 PM. You'll enjoy a day of kids activities... make and take crafts... a holiday fashion show... plus musical performances, entertainment and fireworks.


Holiday in Lights

November 21, 2015 - January 10, 2016 - Centennial Olympic Park

Come take a memorable stroll through an enchanted winter wonderland, as thousands of brilliant, sparkling lights illuminate famous Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta to help usher in the Christmas holiday season. Free and open to the public - visitors can see the lights daily from 7 AM - 11 PM.

Atlanta Half Marathon & Thanksgiving 5K

November 24, 2016 - Turner Field Stadium

An annual event ran each Thanksgiving, the Atlanta Half Marathon & 5K has quickly become one of the most popular holiday races in Atlanta. The Atlanta Half Marathon starts and finishes at Turner Field Stadium (13.1 miles) after winding its way through downtown, up to Midtown, past Atlantic Station and through Piedmont Park, it then heads back towards downtown, passing the Capitol Building, and eventually making its way to Turner Field. There will also be a "Gravy Gallop" (50-meter dash) and "Mashed Potato Mile" for the kids.

The Half Marathon starts at 7:30 AM and the 5K starts at 8 AM. The Gravy Gallop starts at 9:45 AM and the Mashed Potato Mile is at 10 AM. All events are rain or shine.

2016 Children's Christmas Parade

December 3, 2016 - Peachtree Street - Midtown Atlanta

Surprise your kids this year by taking them to see the Southeast's premier holiday parade! The annual Children's Christmas Parade has been a holiday tradition in Atlanta for years, and it features award-winning marching bands, holiday themed animated floats, giant helium balloons, and a grand finale featuring Santa Claus.

The Atlanta Children's Christmas Parade begins at Peachtree Street and 16th Street near the High Museum. The parade route then follows along Peachtree Street down to 5th Street, just north of the Fox Theatre.

The Children's Christmas Parade starts at 10:30 AM and ends at Noon (rain or shine).


Atlanta Christmas Holidays

December 8-30, 2017 - Throughout Atlanta

If you've never seen the Christmas decorations at a world-class shopping mall like Lenox Square ... then you haven't experienced the thrill of Christmas. Visit Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza with hundreds of the finest stores in the Southeast.

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Parade

December 31, 2017 - Various Locations - Downtown Atlanta

Come enjoy a fun-filled day of parties, football and fireworks! It all begins with the annual Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Parade, where thousands of people line the streets to witness a display of awesome floats, marching bands, mascots, cheerleaders, huge balloons and more.

The parade starts at 8:00 AM - right at the intersection of Peachtree St. and Baker St., heading south on Peachtree St. to Andrew Young International Blvd. - then moving west on Andrew Young International Blvd. through Centennial Olympic Park - officially ending at the intersection of Marietta Street in front of CNN Center at 9:30 AM.

Hotels along the parade route include the Holiday Inn Downtown, Westin Peachtree Plaza and DoubleTree Atlanta Downtown.


Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl FanFest

December 31, 2017 - Georgia World Congress Center

Once the parade is finished, it doesn't mean that the fun has to stop there, because the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl FanFest kicks-off into high gear immediately following. Starting at 8:30 AM on the grounds of the Georgia World Congress Center, fans of all ages can participate in numerous games of agility and skill, including rock climbing, interactions with a football and more - all in friendly competitions. Food and beverages will be offered by Chick-fil-A and Coca-Cola, plus you'll have a chance to view and purchase official Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl merchandise before the game. There will also be a pep rally and team walks, including the bands, cheerleaders, and mascots to help conclude the event.

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl FanFest runs from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Tickets are only $10-$15 and are available for purchase on December 31, at the Georgia World Congress Center, Building C - Level 1 Lobby.

When the 71,250 seat Georgia Dome sells-out for the past 16 years in a row, you know the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl has got to be a great game - and this year won't be any different. If you like college football, you are going to love watching the College Football Playoff matchups, with the 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025 games hosting a national semifinal, with matchups in all years selected by the playoff selection committee. Celebrating its 47th year - the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl has become synonymous with Atlanta, as peaches have with Georgia.

This year's lineup: TBA. It will also be televised live on ESPN at 12 PM.


New Year's Eve Festival & Peach Drop

December 31, 2017 Underground Atlanta - Downtown Atlanta

This block party for thousands offers family fun, and live musical performances by local artists and musicians, as well as a midnight fireworks spectacular, which is the perfect climax to a day full of entertainment. Festivities begin at 11 AM, and all events are free.

Underground Atlanta is the place to be at midnight... enjoy watching the 800 lbs. peach drop, followed by a really awesome fireworks show. Live musical performances TBA.

There will also be a lot of private New Year's Eve Parties throughout the Atlanta area.
